The EU industry Days is an annual event by the EU Commission for discussing industrial policy, calling attention to industrial precursors and industrial policy in progress. It’s also the occasion for improving the knowledge of European industry. It stimulates inclusive dialogue with a broad spectrum of stakeholders about industry challenges and it gives the chance to co-develop opportunities and policy responses. The 2022 edition took place in Brussels in hybrid mode from the 8th to the 11th of February 2022. This year industrial environment and their green and digital conversion, in support of the empowerment of EU companies (including SMEs) were at the centre of the discussion. In the light of Commission’s plan to make 2022 the European Year of Youth, a discussed theme has been how the new generations can change the future of EU industry. Indeed, in the context of a Special Youth Programme a focus was put on some of the most concerns of the young generation such as social equality, youth unemployment, precarious work, and the pressing demand for sustainable and socially responsible business models.
