The launching event, organized to bring all the members together and to officially present the association, has been held on the 11th of February at the Residence Palace in Brussels. The event was attended by around 50 delegates: the founding members of the association, representatives of the European Institutions, digital education stakeholders, representatives of digital businesses and organizations active at various levels of education and entrepreneurship.
During the first part of the morning, on the 11th, the discussion dealt with the most peculiar topics in the framework of Digital Agenda, especially the policies applied at European level, such as: the Grand Coalition for Digital Jobs, Opening Up Education, Smart Learning and the broad Digitalization of the European Society. To address these topics relevant Officers from the European Commission intervened: Janne Elvelid DG CONNECT, Denis Crowley DG Education and Culture and Alexander Mateus DG CONNECT.
After that the event has been closed by the contribution of Cheryl D. Miller – Digital Leadership Institute and Francesca Falco – DIGITALEUROPE. They brought into the discussion their experiences concerning the topic of women representation in STEM (Science – Technology – Engineering – Mathematics), as well as a more in depth insight to the digital industrial sector
