About the project

Greenentre4deaf

Stimulating innovative-inclusive teaching and validated life-long learning on green entrepreneurship for deaf and hard of hearing people (DHH) through digital innovation in HEI In December 2024, a new initiative titled “Greenentre4deaf”, a 24-month project funded by the European Commission under the Erasmus+ Key Action 2: Cooperation Partnerships in Higher Education (KA220-HED), started! This innovative project is designed to enhance the capacity of Higher Education institutions to offer flexible learning pathways. Its primary goal is to develop an accredited, modular Green Entrepreneurial course tailored for professionals working with individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing. Uniquely, Greenentre4deaf will pioneer the creation of a dedicated European Green Entrepreneurial Sign Language, while also launching ENTREGREEN LIVING HUBs. These hubs will serve as centers for delivering modular courses focused on green and entrepreneurial competencies specifically for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing (DHH) learners.

Key Objectives: Develop innovative pedagogies in green entrepreneurship for the deaf community by establishing the GREENENTRE LIVING HUB. Encourage the acquisition of green skills for all citizens, empowering them as agents of sustainable change. Promote inclusion and equal opportunities by enabling DHH individuals to understand and communicate entrepreneurial and environmental terminology that currently lacks interpretation in sign language. Foster innovative teaching and learning methods in higher education by upskilling educators, trainers, and professionals who work with DHH learners. This includes developing transferable, future-oriented competencies in green entrepreneurship, supported by relevant digital skills. Drive digital transformation and resilience in higher education institutions through modern tools, including a mobile app (e-GREEN ENTERPRISE TOOL) for enterprise planning, and a VR simulator for immersive green skills training. Deliver practical, sustainable, and widely applicable outcomes that can be used by DHH individuals, as well as educators and trainers across all sectors.

Target Groups:

  • DHH students in higher education, as well as other DHH individuals, including adult learners, professionals, employees, job seekers, and those from marginalized backgrounds.
  • Academics, educators, VET trainers, sign language interpreters, and professionals working with DHH individuals in educational or training contexts.

Expected Results and Outputs: A Transnational Mapping Tool using story maps and subtitle-supported video interviews with DHH entrepreneurs to showcase best practices and training pathways in green-oriented organizations. A Peer Review Report including: A catalog of green entrepreneurship programs with a DHH focus, and examples of technology integration in higher education across the project’s partner countries. Consultation outcomes from DHH participants, professionals, and industry experts, to guide the co-creation of content and inform the virtual peer review session on sign development for VR training scenarios. A virtual peer review session bringing together all project partners. An Inclusive Green Industry Handbook for emerging entrepreneurs, based on CEDEFOP’s research and aligned with the ESCO, GREENCOMP, and ENTRECOMP frameworks. It will break down essential skills, knowledge, and attitudes into profession-specific modules suitable for use in challenge-based VR learning. The GREENENTRE4DEAF Living Hub Methodology, a set of practical, step-by-step guidelines for higher education institutions to build inclusive training environments.
