About the project
Euphoria
Promoting Intercultural Dialogue and European Civic Values for Ukrainian Youths : We are pleased to announce the launch of EUphoria, a new European project funded by the Erasmus+ Programme that aims to support the social, civic and educational integration of Ukrainian youths affected by the war. The project will run for 24 months, from 1 November 2025 to 31 October 2027, with a total EU grant of €250,000, under KA220-YOU – Cooperation Partnerships in Youth.
Since the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, millions of young people have been forced to leave their homes and rebuild their lives in new social, cultural and educational environments across Europe. While many EU countries have shown strong solidarity, Ukrainian youths often face challenges related to social inclusion, civic participation and a sense of belonging. Limited access to tailored non-formal education opportunities, language barriers, lack of intercultural dialogue and feelings of isolation can hinder their integration and well-being.
At the same time, youth workers and professionals working with young people are required to:
Respond to increasingly complex needs, often without sufficient tools, training or methodologies adapted to the consequences of conflict and forced displacement. EUphoria was created to address these challenges, offering innovative and inclusive learning approaches that promote dialogue, participation and shared values.
The overall objective of EUphoria is to facilitate the integration of Ukrainian youths in European host countries by promoting a shared understanding of European civic values, such as democracy, human rights, solidarity, equality and respect for diversity. The project also aims to strengthen the capacity of youth workers, enabling them to better support young people affected by war through inclusive, participatory and non-formal education approaches.
EUphoria specifically targets young people aged 15 to 18, with a strong focus on Ukrainian youths and other vulnerable young people with fewer opportunities. In parallel, the project involves youth workers, social workers, educators, psychologists and professionals engaged in out-of-school youth activities. By working with both youths and professionals, EUphoria adopts a holistic approach to inclusion and civic education.
To achieve its objectives, the project will implement a series of intercultural and civic workshops based on multicultural dialogue and youth participation. These workshops will bring together Ukrainian and local youths, creating safe and inclusive spaces where they can exchange experiences, reflect on European values and develop social, civic and intercultural competences. Youth workers involved in these activities will also benefit from capacity-building opportunities, strengthening their skills and methodologies.
In addition, EUphoria will develop the EUphoria digital civic game, an innovative educational tool based on edutainment methodologies. Through the game, young people will explore different European civic values in an interactive and engaging way, navigating learning paths designed to increase motivation, understanding and retention. Participants will be able to obtain open badges as recognition of the civic knowledge and skills acquired during the game experience.
EUphoria is implemented by a transnational partnership of five organisations from Romania, Ukraine, Cyprus, France and Italy, coordinated by Asociatia Profesionala Neguvernamentala de Asistenta Sociala ASSOC (Romania). The consortium brings together complementary expertise in youth work, social inclusion, human rights, civic education and digital learning, ensuring both strong local impact and European added value.
By fostering intercultural dialogue, active citizenship and shared European values, EUphoria contributes to building more inclusive, resilient and cohesive communities. The project aligns with the EU Youth Strategy and Erasmus+ priorities on inclusion, diversity and civic engagement, offering practical tools and approaches that can be adapted and reused beyond the project’s lifetime.
We look forward to sharing updates, activities and results as the project progresses and to working together with young people, youth workers and stakeholders across Europe to promote dialogue, participation and a shared European future.
